Full Stainless Steel Construction Slow Masticating Juicer. All pictures shown are of actual items for sale. Considered by some to produce the finest juice in the world. All plant materials touch 100% Stainless Steel parts. (1) Stainless Steel Extraction Housing.(1) Stainless Steel Splash Guard. (2) Plastic Juice & Pulp Containers. I bought this about a decade ago from USJuicers which you can see from the affixed label pictured. If you search for that website, it now redirects to superangeljuicers where you can see all of the accessories available and that the current production models are out of stock. Demand for these is sky high. I only found new ones in Australia and they cost a fortune to order in the U.
I cannot find any other used ones online, so this is a good opportunity if you really want an authentic Angel Juicer. I've used it around 80 times which is nothing. Like a champion juicer, these motors are basically lifetime machines that will keep running forever as long as you do not run them for over half an hour at a time (more than enough time to make a gallon or two of super green juices). Even if you ever have to replace any external part, the core machine is a lifetime product. It is a used item so the stainless steel housing is no longer flawlessly buffed and without mild pitting, but it is built like a tank and in excellent working condition. I just put it through its paces this past week when I twice made over a gallon of juice using ginger, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, spinach, apples and cucumbers. It handles all of those variables very well. Can it juice wheatgrass and similar plants or herbs? Yes, the stainless steel augurs masticate everything and really does pull the juice out. I will say the juice is magnificent and it keeps much longer in the fridge in my experience. If you do refrigerate to drink later, I recommended ginger as one of the ingredients.
It helps maintain freshness from what I've seen. I know experts say that's not the way to consume fresh juices, but just passing on my first hand experience that the Angel does produce quality juice. Is it easy to use? Juicing is work with any machine in my opinion, but I'd say the Angel takes a little more effort because it chews slower than other machines and it takes a little longer to clean up. If you have a very intense juicing sessions some of the pores in the perforated stainless steel housing can back up and you may see some drips from the base of the augurs where the house is clamped to the machine.
This is normal and not a problem. Just reverse the augurs every so often. The slow grinding and the stainless steel housing is a different juicing experience than instant juice machines. You can get custom cleaning brushes too or you can use stiff toothbrushes. As you can see from the close-up photo of the stainless steel housing, there are hundreds of tiny holes that eventually clog and scraping, then brushing is how you clean that.
Also, I recommend soaking the housing for five minutes immediately after juicing to loosen up any impacted materials prior to cleaning. Is this a good model? All of the Super Angels are good models. The newer ones are the same design. If you can wait until whenever they produce new machines and afford to spend much more, that's fine, but I'm confident you'll have a comparable positive relationship with this SA3500.Note: It is similar in operation to a Champion Juice, but considerably slower and intense with the dual augurs. Slide on the housing and clamp it tight. Put the containers under the middle and the end of the housing, touching each other. Flip on power switch on back. Hit right button on front dashboard to run augurs. Feed produce in, using plunger to push through. If it is tough stuff like cabbage, it is OK to get physical and hold the machine on top with your left hand while you push it through with your right hand. When it starts to look frothy inside the housing, hit the middle button on the dashboard. Then hit left button to reverse augurs which helps masticate the rest of the juice and remove any backup. You have to hold down this reverse button to run it.
Keep a bowl and a strainer nearby and empty juice periodically to strain out any small amount of pulp (but it is almost nothing compared to a Champion juicer). If you've been going for 15 minutes, give the machine a couple of minutes rest. OK, that's all written by me, no cut and paste. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
